Safety accidents caused by automobile fasteners
· Some safety accidents caused by automobile fasteners collected by Peng Zongwen---deputy director of the automobile standard parts inWuhan:
· In the summer of 1997, a BJ2020 procuratorate car from Jiayu Hubei , due to the repair factory used inferior retaining bolt,on their way , the bolt fracture, causing the vehicle out of control, crashed a driving motorcycle , causing several people death and injured.
· In the autumn of 1998, an individual truck formWuhan, equipped with the brand of unknown connecting rod bolt, only travel hundreds of kilometers,because of the connecting rod bolt fracture damaged the engine.
· InShenyang,Chongqing,some witnesses watched car wheel fly out , the reason is wheel bolt snapped.
· In 1977, theUnited States, General Motors (GM) cost about $50 million to $70 million for recall of 6.4 million vehicles which ones be used a very short time after received the complaints ,just because of improper selection for the strength of the bolt and the material for car's suspension control arm. Gm's final investigation found that the bolt fracture because of environmental corrosion lead to the low carbon boron steel of high strength bolt delayed fracture (12.9), conclusion is the part of low carbon boron steel of high strength bolts used design is flawed
· In 1988, the pentagon（USA）announced on the imported fasteners shoddy event, according to the statistics in American equipment (including vehicles) in all kinds of accidents, accidents caused by fastener is up to 25%.
