TOP-LOCK^® threaded insert installation instructions

TOP-LOCK^® threaded insert is a new type of internal threaded fastener which can be embedded in the metal or nonmetal material, forming high strength, wear resistance interchangeable standard thread.Application on the low strength of engineering materials such as aluminum and magnesium alloy, can obviously improve the strength and wear resistance;Applied in steel, cast iron can improve the durability of the screw hole, prevent caused by loose thread, various vibration fatigue fracture and improve the resistance to fatigue strength of bolt connection.

In case of thread machining error or repair the damaged screw hole , use threaded insert as a means of repair, which can not increase the weight and volume, get economic maintenance, save important components, quickly and efficiently to repair to the original state. Using threaded insert to convert the metric - inch thread hole is very convenient and quick.

Installation:

1. drilling: drilling by the drills with the standard specifications listed in the table, the hole depth is greater than or equal to the installation depth, do not drill into cone. Clastic don't fall into the place where may cause damage.Allow dimpling, dimpling should not exceed 0.4 the depth of the pitch, because too much dimpling against threaded insert screwing and may cause unaccommodated assembly.

Note:

(1) the items with * are not only the normal but also locking type: ordinary expressed as ST, lock type expressed as ZST .
(2) According to the needs and requirements of users, all kinds of threaded inserts can try to produce .
(3) The nominal length according to the standard ,can choice any even number between 4 ~ 20, can also choice according to the nominal diameter of the multiple .

2.Tapping: using  special private sidings cone tapping, tapping length must exceed the length of the wire. 3.Install:Insert set inside special installation tools, install the handle embedded guide slot, turn the install tool handles make insert screwing into the screw hole.Attention must not impose on insert set install large axial force.

4.Break off the “tail”: can use special thrust for insert “tail”only , for the through-hole, “tail”need to be broken off. Generally, with the thrust device on the installation of the handle, with 200 g of hammer down once, can remove. For 18 x2. 5 or more coarse threaded insert and 14X1.25 or more fine threaded insert, with a long nose pliers bend to the “tail” up and down then the “tail”can be broken.

5. Remove the threaded insert:
During the installation process maybe have some issues,need to remove the threaded insert or because the use time is too long,need to remove the threaded insert. With a blade sleeve tool aim the handle then with a hammer hit out, by hand press the handle to the thread tension screw rotation can exit the insert.
